The Makeup Co

The Makeup Co is a Melbourne store for professional makeup, stocking ESUM, Kett, Paintbox and Bulk Lashes.

Introduction

When The Makeup Co came to us, it ran on a custom-built site the team couldn’t change themselves. Every new product or price went through a developer, and pages were slow to load.

Challenge

Its customers are busy artists who know what they want and want it now.

Prices move with the US dollar and the range keeps changing, so the store had to be easy to update on the spot.

What we did

We moved the whole store onto Shopify and set it up the way makeup artists shop.

The menu goes brand first, then face, eyes, cheeks and lips. The cart slides out instead of loading a new page. The product photos were redone at one size on one soft grey, so the whole range is clean and easy to scan. Pro members log in and see their price straight away, and approving a new member sends their welcome email on its own. Then we trained the team to run it all themselves.

In their words

“I love the way it looks.”
