FAQ

Questions, answered.

Choosing who builds your brand is a big call, so here’s everything founders ask us before they start, answered straight. Pick a topic, or book a discovery call and ask us directly.

General

Who we work with, who does the work and what to expect.

Founder-led product brands launching, or refreshing a brand they’ve outgrown. Most are doing $1M to $5M a year and selling online, or about to.

Founders who make decisions quickly, have one person who can sign off, and are ready to invest in doing the brand properly. The best projects give feedback within 3 business days and let us follow the process.

Most agencies do the brand or the website, and leave you to manage the gap between them. We do both, and the same people design and build, so nothing gets lost in handover.

Because a superbrand tells the same story everywhere a customer finds it, from the packaging to the feed to the checkout. That’s what we build, so it’s what we called ourselves.

A Creative Director leads your project from kickoff to launch and is your one point of contact. Developers and photographers come in as your project needs them, and strategy, design and build all happen under one roof.

Maybe not your exact one, and that’s often useful. Fifteen years of building brands, from national radio networks to beauty and ecommerce, means we spot the patterns fast and bring in what works elsewhere.

Most projects launch 4 to 8 weeks after kickoff, depending on what you need. Approvals, packaging print and product photography are what usually move it.

Every project is scoped to your brand and what you need. You’ll get a fixed price after the discovery call, with 50% to start and 50% on delivery.

It means we work as your design team, month to month. One job at a time, a first look within 3 business days, and no lock-in.

Good. We can set the brand and the system, then hand your team the files and guidelines to run with. Or we work alongside them on the build.

Where it saves time. The thinking and the design decisions are ours, and that’s the part you’re paying for. If a photo shoot isn’t possible or isn’t in the budget, we can create your product imagery with AI instead.

Yes. Most of our clients are doing $1M to $5M a year, but we also work with founders under $1M and before launch.

We’re based in Melbourne, Australia, and work with founders anywhere in the world. Every project starts with a 30-minute discovery call.

Working with us

What happens once you say yes, and how we work together.

A signed proposal, a signed agreement and the first 50% payment. Within an hour of paying, you’ll have a receipt, the countersigned agreement and your kickoff booked.

We pre-fill a questionnaire from your website, socials and reviews for you to correct, then run a kickoff in week one. You bring three brands you admire and two you don’t want to look like. We bring a snapshot of your category and competitors.

Involved at the right moments. You’ll sign off each stage, give feedback within 3 business days, and have one person who can make the call. Everything in between is on us.

By email, with every file in one shared folder: the timeline, feedback and decisions. After every key meeting you get a written summary, so nothing gets lost.

Projects are 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Brand Partner is a flat monthly fee, month to month. We’re not registered for GST, so there’s no GST on top.

We work with you at every stage, so it rarely comes to that. If a direction misses, we’ll talk openly about why, then go again. If the second doesn’t land either, you can walk away and only pay for the work so far.

Yes. Branding works on its own, and Websites and E-commerce build on a brand you already have. If you already have one, we’ll review it first to make sure the site has something solid to build on.

Happy to once we’re working together. For the first call, share only what you’re comfortable with. We don’t need your secrets to tell you whether we’re the right fit.

Some client work is confidential, so we only share what’s public or what clients have approved. Ask on the call and we’ll show you everything we can.

Our work is the best place to start. For bigger projects, we can sometimes connect you with a past client, with their permission.

One consolidated list of feedback on the whole stage, sent together. If notes come in one at a time, we’ll ask for them as one list. Each stage includes two rounds, and a third round is charged.

Your proposal sets the timeline, with an outside date, and we keep to our side of it. When a project moves, it’s usually waiting on approvals, content or photography, which is why we ask for feedback within 3 business days.

You do. Your domain is registered in your name, and we manage it for you.

Branding

Strategy, identity and guidelines for a brand you’ve outgrown.

We start with strategy, not a mood board: who you’re for, why they’d choose you and how you should sound. The look comes from that, so every decision has a reason behind it.

Founders launching a brand, or refreshing one they’ve outgrown. Product brands first, but not only.

A logo is one mark. An identity is the system around it: type, colour, graphics and the rules for using them, so everything you make looks like you.

Brand strategy, naming if you need it, a logo system, type and colour, brand graphics, packaging direction, mockups, brand guidelines and all source files.

About 4 weeks from kickoff to handover. Naming adds time, and approvals can move it.

Every project is scoped to your brand and what you need. You’ll get a fixed price after the discovery call, with 50% to start and 50% on delivery.

Yes, if you need it. We check names against registered trademarks before we recommend one. It adds time, so we scope it on the call.

Packaging direction is part of the identity. Full packaging design, through to print-ready artwork, is quoted separately or done as jobs on a Brand Partner retainer. We don’t print, but we can deal with your printer if you need us to.

Yes. You get the final files and all source files.

We go again. If the second doesn’t land either, you can walk away and only pay for the work so far.

More than you’d expect. Before any design, we go through your reviews, socials and site, your category and competitors, and the customers you want to win.

Websites

Landing pages and brand sites, before or without a full online store.

We design around one job for the site, like getting people to join, enquire or book, and build it on your brand, not a template.

Brands launching, adding a product line, or selling mainly through stockists or social. If you’re ready to sell online, E-commerce is the better fit.

Site structure, page design, site copy, a mobile-ready build connected to your domain, analytics, ad pixels and Search Console set up, a speed check before launch, a handover session and 14 days of fixes after launch.

It depends on the size of the site, but most take 3 to 4 weeks. You’ll get a fixed timeline with your proposal.

Every project is scoped to your brand and what you need. You’ll get a fixed price after the discovery call, with 50% to start and 50% on delivery.

Usually Shopify for online stores and Framer for landing pages and brand sites, because your team can run both without us. Plans, apps and payment fees are paid directly to the providers. We’re a Shopify Partner.

If you’re not selling online yet, a full store is overhead. A great site is faster to launch and easy for your team to edit. When you’re ready to sell, we build the store on the same brand.

Yes, the site copy is included. Longer writing, like blog posts, isn’t.

Yes. We build it so your team can edit it, and walk you through it at handover.

We go again. If the second doesn’t land either, you can walk away and only pay for the work so far.

E-commerce

Online stores that look like your brand and are easy to run.

Every page is designed to your brand, not a template with your logo dropped in. The big decisions, like payments, shipping, apps and moving from your old site, are locked in week one so nothing surprises anyone at launch.

Product brands launching an online store or moving to a new platform. If the brand needs work too, we can do both together. The store includes your homepage and content pages, so you won’t need a separate website as well.

Store structure, homepage, product and collection templates, content pages, payments and shipping, redirects from your old site and your first 20 products loaded. Analytics, ad pixels and Search Console set up, and speed and checkout tested before launch. Plus training and 14 days of fixes after launch.

About 4 weeks for the store on its own, or about 8 weeks with the brand. Product data and photography are what usually move it.

Yes, and most brands do. We build the identity first, then the store on the finished brand: one team, one timeline, about 8 weeks.

Every store is scoped to your range and what it needs to do. You’ll get a fixed price after the discovery call, with 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Full catalogue loads are quoted separately.

Usually Shopify for online stores and Framer for landing pages and brand sites, because your team can run both without us. Plans, apps and payment fees are paid directly to the providers. We’re a Shopify Partner.

Yes. The same people design and build it, so nothing gets lost between the design and the live site.

We redirect your old pages so your search rankings carry over, then switch you over at launch.

Yes. You get a handover session, training videos and a how-to guide, plus 14 days of fixes after launch. Everyday changes won’t need a developer.

Yes. A redesign keeps your products, customers and order history where they are and rebuilds how the store looks and works. It usually takes 3 to 4 weeks.

Yes, from a custom-built site or an older platform. Products, customers and content come across and are checked against the old store, and every old address is redirected so your search rankings come with you. Usually 3 to 6 weeks.

Yes. We plan payments, shipping and apps in week one, then design, build and load your products in about 4 weeks, or about 8 if we build the brand first.

Yes. We bring in photographers for product and lifestyle shoots, or you can use photos you already have. If a shoot isn’t in the budget, we can create your product imagery with AI.

Either. Some stores need a custom theme, others are best on a base theme designed to your brand. We’ll recommend one, and it’s part of your fixed price.

You can book one-off fixes whenever you need them. If your store breaks, we’ll respond within 2 business hours.

Brand Partner

Your design team, one job at a time.

Ongoing design for product brands: campaign and ad creative, paid ads, packaging for new products, new pages, social templates and keeping everything consistent.

Product brands with design to do every month. You don’t need to have done a project with us first. If your brand needs work before we can design for it, we’ll tell you on the call.

Send a request, get a first look within 3 business days, then two rounds of revisions. When it’s done, the next job starts.

A landing page, a set of ad creatives, a packaging label, an email template set, or social templates for a campaign. Bigger pieces are split into stages and delivered one after another.

Focus. One job done properly beats three half done, and you set the order.

A flat monthly fee, month to month. We’ll confirm it with you at the end of your project.

No. It’s month to month, with 30 days’ notice.

Not mid-month. There’s no lock-in though, so you can give notice and come back when you need us.

Through our brief form, with a written brief or a quick video.

We work alongside them. We keep the brand consistent and take on the jobs they don’t have time for.
